From the get-go, it was clear that the Comets meant business. With their star goalie, Kenzie, quoted saying ‘it was the best first period we've had all season’ - words she would later regret saying 😅 after the third period.

In a flurry of action-packed moments, the Comets wasted no time putting points on the board. First up, we had #26 Phipps, assisted by the #15 Taylor, setting the tone with a lightning-fast goal at 13:31. But they weren't done there, oh no! Just minutes later, number Taylor found the back of the net with an assist from #27 Cannon, sending the team into a frenzy. And talk about teamwork, because Cannon returned the favour with a goal of their own, assisted by #26 Phipps, right before the buzzer!

But as the game wore on, Streatham gained ground, showing their resilience and toughness. Despite not finding the back of the net, they made their presence felt, challenging the Comets at every turn. But that didn't stop them from lighting the lamp once again with another stellar goal from number #27 Cannon, assisted by #26 Phipps.

And let's not forget the drama of the final period! It was a penalty fest out there, folks, with both teams racking up a ridiculous amount of time in the sin bin, and injuries to key players Taylor and Shackley, it was a nail-biting rollercoaster ride to the very end. But the Comets weren't about to let anything stand in their way, oh no! Even with #26 taking a little breather (ten minutes or so 👀 ) in the changing room after a bit of fisticuffs, they rallied together to secure a well-deserved victory.

But the story doesn't end there! Phipps emerged as the player of the game, showcasing incredible skill and determination between the pipes. And let's not forget Cannon, whose tireless work rate and almost hat-trick performance earned her the spirit of the game award.
